To the valley of the Best View in Britain...

Fern Bank is situated in an elevated position in the hamlet of Netherwasdale formerly known as Strands) some 50 yards uphill from the Strands Hotel. The house is detached and has a garden front and rear and ample parking for several vehicles.

House

The accommodation comprises...

Ground Floor :

Two lounges, superb kitchen with fridge, electric cooker, a separate dining room, a rear (laundry) room with its own exit (for preparation for hiking, storing boots, anoraks etc.). There is a small TV set.

First Floor :

Large bathroom, three double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. The accommodation can sleep up to nine people (the twin room also has one single bunk bed). There is a shower/ wc in the attic.

The accommodation has oil central heating and fuel is provided for the fires at no extra charge, when available. The property is fully furnished and all cutlery and kitchen utensils are provided. Duvets and pillows are provided; it is only necessary to bring your own sheets, pillowslips and towels.

Wasdale is in the National Park in the North West corner of the Lake District. The Valley is of outstanding natural beauty and the scenery is dramatic.

The views from Fern Bank are amongst the best in the Lake District. Whether fell walking, rambling by the River Irt or Wastwater Lake, or simply touring the area, the visitor will be impressed by the incredible beauty of the surroundings. Accommodation in Wasdale is strictly limited and the Valley is completely unspoilt.

There are two pubs and a hotel in the village, which serve excellent meals and bar snacks at reasonable prices.

The village of Gosforth will cater for all your requirements and is only three miles away. There is approximately one and a half miles to walk from the house to the lakeside.
